Iconic Today show weatherman Willard Scott has died. He was 87.
Scott handed away on Saturday, Sept. 4. He served as a weatherman on the NBC sequence for greater than 20 years and was recognized for wishing viewers who turned 100 years outdated a cheerful birthday on air. He was succeeded by present co-host Al Roker. Scott is survived by his spouse Paris Keena and his youngsters Sally and Mary from his earlier marriage to spouse Mary Dwyer Scott, who died in 2002.
“We misplaced Willard Scott handed peacefully at 87 surrounded by household, together with his daughters Sally and Mary and his pretty spouse, Paris,” Roker tweeted. “He was really my second dad and am the place I’m right this moment due to his beneficiant spirit. Willard was really a broadcast #icon.”
Scott was born in Alexandria, Va. in 1934. As a youngster, he labored as a web page at NBC radio station WRC in Washington, D.C. He graduated from American College with a B.A. in philosophy and faith.
