Apple is closing some reopened stores due to high coronavirus cases

The company said on Friday that the company would close 11 stores across Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Arizona this weekend.

“Due to the current conditions of COVID-19 in some of the communities we serve, we are temporarily closing stores in these areas.” an Apple (AAPL) He said in a statement. “We are taking this step with great caution as we closely monitor the situation and look forward to the return of our teams and customers as soon as possible.”
The four states have seen dramatic increases in cases in recent days, as experts said Florida in particular could emerge as a new center.
Apple had previously placed many restrictions and requirements on stores that reopened, with only some offering side capture while others imposing face caps and checking the temperature for entry.

“These are not decisions we rush to – and the opening of the store does not mean in any way that we will not take a preventive step to close it again if local conditions warrant this,” he said in a statement last month.

The company has 510 stores worldwide, 271 of which are in the United States.

The following stores will be closed temporarily starting this weekend:

  • Scottsdale Fashion Square
